Ah, February—the Month of Love

Ah, February. The month of love. It’s supposed to be full of romance, right? The kind we see in movies, where everything is perfect and love feels effortless. You know, those grand gestures that make you feel like you’re on top of the world, like being swept off your feet with a surprise bouquet of roses or diamond earrings, no kids in sight. But let’s be real for a second: if your husband actually bought you those earrings, you'd probably spend the next few days alternating between relishing how thoughtful he is and spiraling into panic about how you’re going to pay for the darn things! Love is beautiful, but real life always has a way of grounding those fairytale moments, doesn’t it?

As little girls, we grew up watching those magical Disney movies where everything was perfect, and love seemed effortless. We were told that Prince Charming would show up on a white horse, ready to sweep us off our feet and whisk us away to a life of bliss. We watched with wide eyes and hearts full of hope, dreaming of our own fairy-tale romance. But somewhere between those dreamy bedtime stories and reality, we learned that life doesn’t quite work the way the movies promised. True love isn't all enchanted castles, fairy godmothers, and forest animals cleaning your house while you dance in a beautiful ballgown.

Fast forward to adulthood, and the reality is a little different. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still deeply in love with my husband, but let’s just say it’s not always a Hallmark movie over here. Some days, it feels like we’re just two roommates navigating daily life: mountains of laundry that seem to multiply overnight, never-ending dishes that come with feeding three kids, and being a personal taxi driver for endless activities. Romance? Yeah, that might show up for a couple of hours a month if we’re lucky.

Real love, the kind that sticks around long after the honeymoon phase, it’s about those little bursts of laughter that make you laugh so hard you start to cry or snort, reminiscing about memories you share, and realizing that despite everything, you still like each other (and love each other more) than you did before. It’s not about perfect plans or perfect days, it’s about being present and finding joy..

If you're already doing this, keeping the spark truly alive, laughing through the craziness, and finding connection in the little things—well, all the power to you! You’ve got it figured out. But if you’re feeling like the romance is slipping through the cracks, don’t worry. You’re not alone. This February, we thought we’d help you rekindle that connection with something simple, our Connection Cards.

We know life doesn’t stop for romantic gestures, and it doesn’t pause for extravagant dinners or spontaneous getaways. But what we've realized is that sometimes, all you need is a little nudge to bring that spark back. It doesn’t have to be grand, it can be a silly board game that makes you laugh so hard you cry, a quiet dinner after the kids are in bed, or a note hidden in the laundry pile (because yes, that totally counts as romantic). It’s these small, real moments that make the biggest difference.

So, if you’ve slipped into “roommate mode” too often lately, don’t worry. You’re not alone. But maybe this February, you can create a few moments of magic, even if it’s just in the form of a shared joke, a spontaneous dance in the living room, or a silly text that makes you smile. Because at the end of the day, love isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, being present, and facing it together.

And here’s the kicker, our Connection Cards were tested on our reluctant husbands (who, let’s be honest, weren't exactly thrilled at first). But guess what? They now love them! What started as a simple experiment has turned into something they look forward to. If our husbands can get on board, we’re confident these will work for you too.

Whether you're dating, newly married, or have been together for years, these Connection Cards are for you. Life gets busy, and it’s easy for the romance to slip through the cracks. But no matter where you are in your relationship, it’s never too late to make those little moments count. Our Connection Cards give you the perfect excuse to reconnect, laugh together, and share some special time, no matter how long you've been together. Use them whenever you need that spark, and keep coming back to them, because love isn’t just for February, it’s for every day.

Here’s to making memories, and finding the magic in the everyday moments.
